Important Message COS 2018

22 December, 2017

Dear Students and Colleagues, Grace and peace to each of you in this holy Advent season. I pray its blessing to you and for your ministry and Churches. This email is to give you information about our 2018 Course of Study. The dates are June 25-June 30 (Session 1) and July 2-July 7 (Session 2). Graduation will be Saturday, July 7 at 11:15 a.m. There are no Saturday afternoon classes that day. As you can see this is a significantly shortened schedule. It’s our hope that more students will be able to attend because of it. It also substantially reduces both student and school costs. We hope to post the class schedule by January 10. Please accept my apologies for the delay. We have several new faculty this year and it’s taken me a little longer to get everything together. The syllabus for the classes should be posted by January 23. Tuition remains the same; $840. There’s an additional fee of $25 for registration, hospitality and food. This fee is non-refundable. Please remember that all fees are due before or on the first day of classes. If you have any questions, please contact me at fconklin@cst.edu or by text 760-443-9664.

2018 — Times and Dates

17 October, 2017

Dear Students and Ministry Colleagues, I hope you had a productive summer and that your fall is off to a good start as well. This is to let you know about our COS 2018 schedule. It will be as follows: Session 1: Monday, June 25- Saturday, June 30. Morning, 8:15-11:30, Afternoon, 1:15-4:30 Sunday, July 1 is a free day Session 2: Monday, July 2-Saturday, July 7 Morning, 8:15-11:30, Afternoon, 1:15-5:15 There are no Saturday afternoon classes Graduation will be Saturday, July 7 at 11:45 Please note that this is a much shorter length than usual. Hopefully, it will make it easier for many of you to attend as there’s less time away from your Churches. It will also substantially reduce costs for food and housing. We’re now in the process of contacting Faculty to teach in 2018. Once this is done, we’ll be able to post the schedule of classes. Our hope is to have this information available by December 1 with the syllabuses posted by the first of the year. If you have any questions, please contact me at fconklin@cst.edu or text me at 760-443-9664. You remain in my prayers. Please keep me and Judy and in yours. Blessings,

NEWS – Opportunities and Changes

1 May, 2017

Dear Students and Colleagues, Grace and peace to each of you. I’m looking forward to our time together this summer. I want to share with you some opportunities and changes that will be happening. I’m excited and pleased that we’ll be hosting a visit from the Rev. Shannon Conklin-Miller. Shannon is the Assistant General Secretary for Clergy Formation at GBHEM. She works specifically with Course of Study and Licensing Schools. Shannon will be meeting with the faculty and with our Advisory Board. We’ll also be scheduling a time for her to meet with students. Please take this as an opportunity to share your experiences and to ask questions about COS or Licensing School. Our Graduation celebration will be on Friday, July 14 at 11:45 a.m. A luncheon will follow. There are no classes that afternoon. It’s my hope that this change allows more students and faculty to be present. It also allows for an earlier start home. Chapel services are scheduled for June 28, June 30, July 3, July 6, July 10 and July 12, rather than every day. The non-Chapel days can be used for other small groups or meetings. It also provides some additional space to “just breathe”.
